We support creatives in learning how to design, develop and produce apparel like a pro. By guiding our clients through these processes, we empower designers to directly engage in their work with the backing of professional support. We assist clients in ideating their concepts clearly and in a method that not only makes sense to them but to other industry professionals.
As prerequisite, all new clients must complete Design Review before pursuing Development or Production services with our team. We provide continued and ongoing support in actualizing apparel product through extended private session programs as well as these practical services.
Development
The Development process focuses on testing the fashion, function and fit of a single style or complete collection. Designers must first select materials including fabrics and trims, and draft a pattern, before making and fitting a sample. Professional fit models are sometimes hired to assist with the fitting process in studio; garments may also be tested outside of the studio to ensure satisfactory performance. In cases where alterations are required, the pattern must first be updated before adjusting or re-making the sample. Achieving a final approved sample (FAS), representing a style in it’s entirety, is the goal of Development and prerequisite for Production.

Production
The Production process focuses on planning and preparing a single style or complete collection for fulfillment at scale. There are several precursory steps which must be completed in advance of Production, including digitizing paper patterns, grading (scaling the sample size across the full size run) and marking (laying out the pattern relative to material specifications). Production tech packs are required when manufacturing with our team, and strongly recommended when working with outside partners. We specialize in small-batch domestic apparel manufacturing, and offer price-breaks at 25 (Sample Run), 50, 100, 200 and 400 units per style (UPS).
